ConnectME Speed Test

The ConnectME Authority has recently asked for assistance from broadband Internet providers in creating a map that shows where Internet service is available in Maine and how fast it is.

They have created an Internet speed test website that records how fast your Internet connection is at your home or business. Aroostook Internet encourages you to visit the website and run the test on your computer. You will be asked for the street address you are running the test from, which will help ConnectME create their map.

Even if you only have dialup Internet access, we encourage you to take the time to run this test. There are still areas of Maine where dialup is the only way to get on the Internet, and if ConnectME can identify those areas it can provide funds to upgrade those areas to broadband.

ConnectME and Aroostook Internet also encourages you to spread the word to your friends and colleagues that live and work in Maine, so that they can run the speed test as well.
